Rolling Oaks Mall, a Simon Mall in San Antonio, Texas, and the home to our Simon Youth Judson Learning Academy, just completed a small-scale renovation project that is very close to our hearts here at Simon Youth Foundation.
“We had a blank barricade that was being used to block the entrance to a vacant mall space, and it was an eyesore,” says mall manager Austin Martin.
Martin got together with his mall team, and they all decided to give the blank wall a makeover.
“All it took was a quick trip to our local Home Depot to purchase two gallons of paint and two boards for our in-house maintenance team to make our dream a reality,” Martin says. “Then our great local partner, PowerGraphics, came in and added the SYF logo and slogan.”

As you can see in the picture, the mall team’s design features SYF and our Ignite Hope mantra. Needless to say, we love it! You can click the image to see a larger version.
“We wanted to spread the word about the impact of Simon Youth Foundation, and more importantly, provide our shoppers an on-the-spot opportunity to donate and support the programs that keep deserving young people in school here in San Antonio and across the country,” Martin explains.
The large QR code embedded on the newly designed SYF wall allows smart phone users to scan and immediately link to the donation page located on the Simon Youth Foundation website.
“I am very proud of our mall team’s hard work, ingenuity and final result,” Martin says.
SYF is proud, and very lucky, to have partners like the amazing mall team at Rolling Oaks!
