Simon Youth Foundation teacher is named the best in East Tennessee

A teacher from the Simon Youth Dr. Paul L. Kelley Volunteer Academy at Knoxville Center in Knoxville, Tenn., was named East Tennessee’s Educator of the Month for October, 2011.

Jannice Clark teaches mathematics at the Academy, which serves students who are at risk of dropping out of school because of serious illness, pregnancy, and a range of other unique personal circumstances that make it too difficult to connect with learning in a traditional classroom setting.

The East Tennessee Educator of the Month is named by Star 102.1 radio and Huntington Learning Center. A former student nominated Clark through the radio station's website, and a selection committee named Clark the October winner.

“We were told by the radio station that Jannice was chosen ‘hands down’ because the nomination essay told the story of the big difference she has made in students’ lives by giving them the hope and confidence to finish high school,” says Kim Towe, the Academy’s principal.

Clark was presented an award plaque during a ceremony at the Academy that was attended by Star 102.1 DJ Frank Murphy.

“This is an award that honors all of our school’s teachers for their dedication to our students,” Clark says. “I am very humbled that my students made the effort to nominate me, and it means a lot that I can have a positive impact in their lives.”

Who studies on this programme?
The MSc M&IS programme is available through distance learning so that practitioners can study while continuing to work in their ongoing professional roles, in the public, private and civil society sectors, or in roles in international organisations, agencies or NGOs. Students work alongside their MSc study, and complete the programme part-time: typically in about two-and-a-half years.

Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?
The scholarships are intended to support students from developing countries who would not otherwise be able to study for a UK qualification. Applicants should:

1. Applicants must not have previously studied abroad;
2. Be a national of and resident in a developing country of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America or Oceania;
3. Have at least two years' work experience in a post relevant to their MSc M&IS studies;

Under which conditions can the context of a human sensor be used in a (web) software environment to enhance the understanding and reliability of human sensor information and how does context play a role in scalable human sensor networks?

b. Tasks

The PhD student will design a method to express human sensor context in a formal language, which will be tested with use cases based on non-fictive human sensors in water and health. Formalised parameters and methods of geo-visual analytics shall be implemented in an open source software prototype following common design principles for software design. The PhD student will work closely together with the software developer to create and test the SEMA prototype software with the stakeholders in three iterations of ‘learn and deploy’.

Theme 2: Citizens’ reporting behaviour

a. Research question

How can Tanzanian citizens behave in relation to the human sensor web (HSW) and become legitimate reporters of the quality of water and health services?

b. Tasks

The researcher will conduct literature review on common pool resources in online settings as well as focus groups of users of text-for-change initiatives in Eastern Africa. The researcher will ‘follow the problem’ by tracing the use of HSW and how people distribute their trust over time and scale. Data will be collected through survey first, then participant observation and documents, and analyzed through socio-political mapping of the resources and beliefs and behaviour of users. Comparative sub-case studies will be identified to refine the prescriptive part of the study.

c. Requirements

MSc in Information Science or Sociology; affinity with Science and Technology Studies (STS)
Knowledge of Kiswahili; Field experience in East Africa is an advantage

a. Research question

Will water and health care officials/providers in Tanzania accept ‘human sensor web’ (HSW) or other open source information systems as part of their information and accountability structures?

b. Tasks

The research design is based on triangulation and comparative strategies between surveys and in-depth case studies. Based on the survey outcomes, interesting cases will be selected for in-depth investigation through ethnographic work (observation, text analysis, and unstructured interviews). Especially accountability structures and individual discretion can be mapped through systematically asking who talks to whom about what. Theory-informed triangulation between surveys and case studies, and careful between-case comparisons will deliver the answers to the research questions.

MSc in Public Administration; affinity with Science and Technology Studies (STS)

Simon Youth Foundation students give thanks through service

Academy students at Haven from Hunger

As we have all been preparing in recent days for our 2011 Thanksgiving meals with loved ones, Simon Youth Foundation students in Peabody, Mass., were preparing a local food pantry to serve hundreds of people who are in need this holiday.

A group of 30 students from the Simon Youth Peabody Learning Academy spent Nov. 14 and 15 at Haven from Hunger. The students served regularly scheduled meals, handed out Thanksgiving turkeys, and helped organize food shelves in advance of the large crowds expected on Thanksgiving. In addition, the students collected and donated 400 non-perishable food items to the pantry.

“This was a very moving and eye-opening experience for our students,” say Academy principal Seith Bedard. “Many of our students face difficult challenges in their lives, but working with Haven from Hunger to serve its clients puts everything into perspective.”

The Simon Youth Peabody Learning Academy operates in partnership between SYF and Peabody Public Schools. It is located in the Northshore Mall, a Simon property northeast of Boston.

There’s a lot going on in the world in late 2011. National revolutions, economic worries, pending political seasons all dot the global landscape, and for Sonia Davis being a part of the international goings-on is her professional dream.

This is why the 18 year old will pursue a degree in International Relations when she begins college this January, 2012. It’s also why the university she selected is located abroad.

 

“I was accepted by Richmond, The American International University in London, and I still sometimes can’t believe that I’ll not only be achieving my dream of going to college but doing it overseas,” Davis says.

Davis’s story is all the more impressive when you consider that Davis had dropped out of her traditional high school before enrolling in the spring of 2011 at the Simon Youth Judson Learning Academy, according to the Academy’s principal Brandon VanVleck. The school, located in the Rolling Oaks Mall in San Antonio, Texas, is operated in partnership between Simon Youth Foundation and the Judson Independent School District.

“For our students, completing high school is a great achievement and going on to college an even bigger milestone, but I can’t be more proud of Sonia for earning a spot at an international university where the process is highly competitive for limited spaces,” VanVleck says.

Thanks to a self-paced curriculum and supportive environment, Davis was able to complete her outstanding high school credits in less than two full semesters at the Academy. She earned her diploma in mid-October, 2011.

“I was out of school and thinking that I would just try to get my GED,” Davis says. “My friend Cecelia Williams told me about the Academy, and I am so glad because it has allowed me to finish high school when I thought that I would not.”

Davis says the Academy teachers and staff wrote strong recommendation letters for her application to the International University, and she credits them, in part, for her acceptance to the college.

Her former teachers credit Davis’s dedication for her success.

“Members of the Academy teaching staff have been here since the doors opened 16 years ago, and no one recalls a graduate of ours going on to college abroad,” VanVleck says. “We are so elated for Sonia that we’ve placed a copy of her acceptance letter at the school’s entrance, because we are so proud of her accomplishments.”

Davis says scholarships will cover her tuition costs for at least her first full year at the International University, and she hopes to earn additional scholarships that will allow her to complete a full four years at the college.

“I am looking forward to being in a culturally stimulating environment with diversity, where many nationalities will be represented,” Davis says.

Projects for Simon Youth Foundation students spread cheer in and out of the classroom

Students at the Simon Youth Phase 4 Learning Center Academy in West Mifflin, Penn., are helping bring holiday cheer to their community with displays at the Century III Mall, which is where the non-traditional high school, supported by Simon Youth Foundation and Phase 4 Learning Center, is located.

As part of the school’s new art curriculum, students have designed Christmas ornaments and decorations for a 12-foot tree display inside the mall. The project provides the school’s at-risk students a welcome outlet for personal expression.

“Some children need to put their thoughts down somewhere other than to a counselor or in a journal – art is that place, it’s my serenity so to speak,” says student Jesse Ribich. “Many artists in history have had something wrong with them, but they all became very successful because of their art.”

Earlier in 2011, students used acrylics to paint gourds and pumpkins for a Halloween display at the mall. Laura Marsico directs the art classes at the school, and she says art projects help students build a range of skills.

“A completed work of art is something students can be proud of, and the creative process builds confidence and a sense of self worth,” Marsico says.

Phase 4 Learning Center Director Terrie Suica-Reed says that the school plans to continue offering its arts program in future semesters to the benefit of students and the mall.

“We are happy this program is positively impacting our students as well as the community, because it helps mall visitors enjoy the holiday spirit,” Sucia-Reed says.

Simon Youth Foundation best practices featured at series of national and state conferences

Simon Youth Foundation President and CEO J. Michael Durnil, Ph.D., was a featured panelist at the University of Indianapolis Center for Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) Conference, Nov. 14-15, 2011.

More than 800 teachers and administrators from Indiana and throughout the country gathered at the conference, Indiana's Future: Navigating New Demands & New Directions, for a series of lectures and panel discussion on best practices for the future of education in the state.

Durnil and three other panelists led a discussion with an audience of more than 30, talking about the importance of community partnership and resources in student success.

"SYF has found great success in cultivating national and local partners in our communities of service to benefit our Simon Youth Academy students, whether it's in the form of internship and professional development programs or the funding of collegiate scholarships," Durnil says.

Simon Youth Academies, which operate in partnership between SYF and the local public school districts where they are located, are non-traditional high schools in 13 states that serve students who are at risk of dropping out of high school. The 23  nationwide Academies enjoy strong local partnerships that bring additional learning and development opportunities to students.

"It was an honor to be asked to share the Foundation's strategic successes with others, and I hope our examples benefit educators in their communities," Durnil says.

The CELL Conference presentation was the third in a series of national presentations made by SYF in the Fall of 2011. The Foundation also was asked to present at the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities National Conference and the Kappa Delta Pi International 48th Biennial Convocation in October.

An excellent MA degree (or national equivalents like the German “Diplom” or “Magister”) in a discipline pertinent to at least one of BIGSSS’ five Thematic fields (see above), i.e. in Political Science (including related degree programs in European Studies or International Relations), Sociology, Psychology, Law, Economics or Mass Communication. The degree must be completed by the end of July of the year of application, which means you may apply before having finished your MA degree.

The Colby-Sawyer College recognizes academic achievement, community service and leadership experience through a variety of scholarships and awards.

Academic Scholarships- No Separate Application Required

Academic Scholarships acknowledge students who have reached a high level of academic achievement throughout their high school career. As part of Colby-Sawyer’s rolling admissions process, students will be informed of the award decision at the point of acceptance. Students will receive the one academic scholarship that they are most qualified for. For international students, Admissions will recalculate grade point averages (GPAs) based on equivalent letter and number grades from the student’s Official High School Transcript.

Scholarship amounts listed are for students who will be entering Colby-Sawyer in September 2012.

Wesson Honors Scholarship - up to $76,000 over four years

Students with a 3.75 GPA at the time of admission are eligible to apply for the Wesson Honors Scholarship. This $19,000 per year scholarship includes direct admission into the Wesson Honors Program. It is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon good academic standing in the Wesson Honors Program.

Founders Scholarship - up to $68,000 over four years

Students with a 3.5 GPA are eligible for the Founders Scholarship. Students receiving this $17,000 per year award have graduated from high school with honors level classes and a rigorous college preparatory program. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission. It is renewable annually for four years of study.

Presidential Scholarship - up to $64,000 over four years

Students with a 3.3 GPA are eligible for the Presidential Scholarship. This $16,000 award is renewable annually for four years of study. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission.

Chargers Scholarship - up to $52,000 over four years

Students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible for the Chargers Scholarship. It is automatically awarded based on GPA at time of admission. This $13,000 per year award is renewable annually for four years.

Merit Based Awards- Separate Application Required

Colby-Sawyer offers merit based scholarships to incoming students based on their high school academic record, leadership qualities and community service involvement. These awards are not based on need and are renewable each year as long as the student remains in good academic standing. Students are eligible to apply for merit awards at any point, including prior to being accepted.

Colby-Sawyer Grant

Grant assistance is given to students based on their financial need, as well as their academic performance. Students receiving grant assistance from the college may expect to receive similar grant awards each year as long as family circumstances do not change, all application deadlines are met, and the student remains in good social and academic standing.

Five universities are part of the educational consortium: Universitat de València (Spain), Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), Université René Descartes Paris 5 (France), Alma Mater Studiorum‐Università di Bologna (Italy) and Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal). New partnerships have been developed with the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil) and University of Guelph (Canada). In the second round of the WOP‐P Program, some changes have been introduced such as the possibility to study the whole program in English and to develop exchange periods of study with the new American Universities in the partnership.

The Julius Nyerere Master's Scholarships - University of Edinburgh

The Julius Nyerere Master's Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh will offer three scholarships to students from Tanzania for postgraduate Master's study in any subject offered by the University for the 2012-2013 academic session.

The Julius Nyerere Scholarship was set up in 2009 in memory of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere who led Tanganyika to independence in 1961 and became the first prime minister and later president of Tanzania. Nyerere received a scholarship in 1949 to attend the University of Edinburgh where he obtained a Masters of Arts degree that saw him study courses in English, Political Economy, Social Anthropology, British History, Economic History, Constitutional Law, and Moral Philosophy.

The Julius Nyerere Master's Scholarships will cover the full overseas tuition fee, living costs of £10,000, and a return flight from Tanzania to the UK.

The scholarships will be tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded to Tanzanian citizens who are normally resident in Tanzania, and who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Criteria

The three Scholarships are awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit, with candidates requiring a Bachelors degree equivalent to a UK First Class Honours ('First') or Upper Division/Upper Second Class Honours ('2:1') degree.

N.B. The Julius Nyerere Master’s Scholarships are highly competitive and only the best candidates are considered. Prospective applicants should note that, to date, successful candidates for the Scholarships have all held a First Class Honours degree. Applicants with a 2:1 Honours degree will be considered if they can show a very strong track record of work experience relevant to their prospective degree.

WORLD DEAF LEADERSHIP (WDL) SCHOLARSHIP FUND 2012-2013 (SCHOLARSHIP FOR DEAF FROM DEVELOPING COUNTRIES)

PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP

The primary purpose of the World Deaf Leadership (WDL) Scholarship Fund is to develop deaf leaders in developing nations by providing students with financial assistance for full tuition, room, and board. If applicable, the cost of participating in up to two internships during their studies at Gallaudet University will be covered. Students supported by the WDL Scholarship Fund will use this educational experience to develop a project aimed at improving the lives of deaf people at home and possibly around the world. Recipients of this scholarship must be from developing nations and have a demonstrated commitment towards returning home upon graduation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

All applicants must:

• Be Deaf or Hard‐of‐Hearing.
• Be from a developing country.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Be a current Gallaudet student or be admitted to Gallaudet by May 1. (Students may also be admitted to the English Language Institute)
• Demonstrate high academic achievement.
• Demonstrate active involvement in the deaf community at home.
• Submit three letters of recommendation that follow these guidelines:
1. Two letters of recommendation from people in the home country whom are familiar with the applicant’s work in the deaf community; and
2. One recommendation letter from a person at home or at Gallaudet whom is familiar with the academic ability of the applicant.

ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

• Full tuition, room, and board.
• $5,000 living expenses.
• Cost related to two 8‐week internships.
• Renewable up to 5 years.
• Cost of Gallaudet health insurance.

CONDITION FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD AND RENEWAL

• Maintain a 2.8 GPA during the first year, 3.0 thereafter.

• Participate in at least one (1) internship funded by the WDL Scholars Fund.

Student letter shows Simon Youth Foundation impact

A quick post here, but we had to share an email that just came into the Simon Youth Foundation office from a 2011 Simon Youth Scholarship recipient.

Angela Taylor wrote us out of the blue, which is how most of the testimonials and thank-you letters that we receive throughout the year find their way to the office. She wanted to let us know that her first semester of college is going well.

A night of firefighters and fashion raises funds for Simon Youth Foundation

Local firefighters strutted their stuff down the runway at a holiday fashion show and silent auction hosted by Dadeland Mall, a Simon mall in Miami, Fla., on Thursday, Nov. 3. Proceeds from the auction were donated to Simon Youth Foundation.

More than 350 people attended the event, Men of Dadeland, a Girl’s Night Out, which was emceed by Miami TV personality Lissette Gonzalez, a meteorologist at Miami’s CBS 4. Firefighters and local celebrities modeled top retailers' best seasonal fashions during the event. Participating firefighters also sold 2012 calendars to benefit the event's other selected charity, Safe Haven for Newborns.

The night’s silent auction for SYF raised a total of $956, and the money will benefit Simon Youth Academies, which are non-traditional high schools supported by SYF that serve students who are homeless, seriously ill, pregnant, or otherwise unable to attend their community’s traditional high school, as well as Simon Youth Scholarships, which target first-generation college students in any community that is home to a Simon mall.

Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) - MASTERS, SHORT COURSES & PhD

The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are designed to promote capacity building within organisations in 61 countries by providing training and education to mid-career staff. The NFP is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation.

The overall aim of the NFP is to help alleviate qualitative and quantitative shortages of skilled manpower within a wide range of governmental, private and non-governmental organisations. This is done by offering fellowships to mid-career professionals to improve the capacity of their employing organisations.

The fellowship is a supplement to the candidate’s salary and a contribution towards the expenses related to the course or study programme.

NFP sub-programmes
The NFP offers you three sub-programmes to choose from:

PhD studies

Eligible students:

The NFP target group consists of mid-career professionals who are employed by an organization other than a large industrial, commercial and/or multinational firm. Since the training must help the organization to develop, the applicants must be nominated by their employers.

Applicants must declare that they will return to their home country immediately after they complete the master program.

Applicants must have gained admission to a TU/e master course, which is on the NFP course list and have sufficient mastery of the English language.

Application and selection procedure for Master's programs

1. A candidate first has to gain admission to an eligible TU/e master program.

2. Then candidates apply for an NFP fellowship through the Netherlands embassy or consulate in their own country by completing an NFP Application Form and submitting it together with all the required documents and information to the embassy or consulate. These forms can be obtained from the embassy or consulate or can be downloaded here).

3. The Embassy checks whether the candidate meets all criteria and sends the forms to the Nuffic (Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education).

4.The Nuffic decides how many fellowships will be available for each program and sends TU/e the list of NFP candidates.

5. TU/e then selects the candidates who will receive fellowships and informs candidates of its decision through the Dutch Embassy in their home country.

Yale University invites applications for the prestigious World Fellows Program 2012

World Fellows Program at Yale University each year brings to Yale 14-18 highly accomplished men and women from a diverse set of countries around the world. The Fellows spend an intensive semester exploring critical issues and undergoing leadership training, with the full resources of Yale University at their disposal. Selected from outside the United States at an early mid-career point (generally five to fifteen years into their professional development), the World Fellows come from a range of fields and disciplines including government, business, nongovernmental organizations, religion, the military, media, and the arts.

Call for Applications

Yale University is currently accepting applications for the World Fellows Program 2012 from mid-career practitioners outside the US. The program is aimed at building extraordinary cohort of Fellows interested in preparing for greater roles of leadership, expanding their professional and personal horizons, and contributing to a deepening of international awareness and dialogue within the Yale community.

Human Rights Watch / Hellman-Hammett Grants

Human Rights Watch is currently seeking nominations for the Hellman/Hammett grant program aimed at supporting writers all around the world who have been victims of political persecution and are in financial need.

The grants, named after the late American playwright Lillian Hellman and novelist Dashiell Hammett, typically range from $1,000 to a maximum of $10,000. Forty-eight writers from 24 countries received Hellman/Hammett grants in 2011 in recognition of their commitment to free expression and the courage they showed when facing political persecution.


Besides providing much needed financial assistance, the Hellman/Hammett grants focus attention on repression of free speech and censorship by publicizing the persecution that the grant recipients endured. In some cases the publicity is a protection against further abuse. In other cases, the writers request anonymity because of the dangerous circumstances in which they and their families are living.

The writers eligible for this grant are the ones, who are targeted for expressing views that their governments oppose, for criticizing government officials or actions, or for writing about subjects that their governments do not want reported.

Over the past 22 years, more than 700 writers from 92 countries have received Hellman/Hammett grants of up to US$10,000 each, totaling more than $3 million.

The program also gives small emergency grants to writers who have an urgent need to leave their country or who need immediate medical treatment after serving prison terms or enduring torture.

Emergency nominations are accepted throughout the year.

Nieman Foundation invites US and non-US Journalists for the Fellowship Program in Global Health Reporting

The Nieman Foundation is currently seeking applications to award two fellowships in Global Health Reporting at the Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States for journalists who report on health issues. One fellowship is reserved for a US citizen and the other is for a non-US citizen.

Program Details

During the program, the fellows spend one academic year at Harvard pursuing a concentrated course, followed by upto four months of field work in a developing country. During their course at Harvard, the fellows have access to faculty and courses across the university.

Fieldwork in the developing country, which is funded by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, aims at providing the fellows with an intensive learning and reporting experience in countries with the most pressing problems in global health.

After the field work has been concluded, the fellows will need to compile the work based on their experience and academic studies. The work can be in the form of stories, case study, or a handbook of best practices related to reporting on health issues in a developing country.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be full-time journalists (including freelancers) with at least five years’ experience. Journalists can work for news or editorial departments of newspapers, wire services, radio, television, web sites, online publications or magazines of general public interest. Photojournalists, editorial cartoonists, columnists and broadcast producers are also eligible.

Any journalism-related work completed as a university student does not count toward experience. People who work in public relations or at organizations whose primary business is not the media are not eligible.

If appropriate, the applicant’s employer should approve a leave of absence for the academic year (10 months).

Within the past two years, an applicant should not have participated in a fellowship or taken a leave of absence from work that lasted four months or longer.

There is no nomination process. Candidates nominate themselves by submitting an application and supplementary materials. There is no age limit. There are no academic prerequisites, and a college degree is not required.

The IPRA Foundation was founded in 1990 as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. The Foundation's sole function is to further the purposes and activities of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), which has for the last thirty two years sought to enhance the process of peace.

DOROTHY MARCHUS SENESH FELLOWSHIP

The International Peace Research Association Foundation invites applications for the Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship in Peace and Development Studies for Women from developing countries. Dorothy Senesh was a long-time activist for international peace and justice. Her husband Lawrence established this fellowship following her death in 1989. The first award was made at the IPRA 25th Anniversary meeting, July 1990, in Groningen, Netherlands and has been made biennially since. The twelfth award will be made at the 24th biennial IPRA meeting in Japan.


AWARD

Every other year (beginning in 1990) one woman receives school expenses in the amount of $5,000 per year for two years.

ELIGIBILITY

The Dorothy Senesh Fellowship is available to women from developing countries who have completed a Bachelor's degree, who have been accepted into a graduate program and whose graduate work is to be focused on issues related to the goals of IPRA. Funds will only be dispersed when the selected candidate is admitted into a graduate program. Awards are considered based on need; therefore students with substantial funding sources are less likely to be considered for the award.

Simon Youth Foundation students Read. Play. Shop.

The students at the Simon Youth Dr. Paul L. Kelley Volunteer Academy in Knoxville, Tenn., found themselves at the non-traditional school, which is located in the Knoxville Center shopping mall, because they could not connect with learning at their local high school.

But in a testament to the school’s power to change a student's outlook on education, the academy’s students now promote learning by participating in a monthly children’s reading program called Read. Play. Shop.

“At the academy, our students are learning the value of education and understanding the positive impact that it can have on their lives,” says Kim Towe, the principal at the academy. “Read. Play. Shop. is an opportunity to pass these lessons on, and because it takes place right here at Knoxville Center, it was a natural fit to have our students volunteer with the program.”

The last Wednesday of every month, five of Towe’s students make the short walk from the academy to the children’s play area at Knoxville Center to read stories like You Can Do It by Tony Dungy and Olivia Talks Turkey by Farrah McDoogle. The academy students select the stories that they’ll read to the children each month.

“I really enjoyed the experience of reading to the kids in the playground area, because it was easier to connect with the kids while sitting in a rocket ship,” says student Alex Dailey. “I honestly think that I had more fun than the kids did.”

“We've been thrilled to have participation from the Simon Youth Academy, and its students have done a tremendous job,” says Amy Fields, the director of marketing at Knoxville Center.
