The Master of Science in International Health Policy & Management (IHPM)
program is pleased to announce a competition in which a full tuition and fees scholarship will be awarded to an early– to mid-career development professional with a demonstrated commitment to effective health policy and management. The Scholarship for this one-year degree begins in August 2010.
The MS program is designed to train students to take on increasingly responsible roles in health policy planning, and in the management of policy and program implementation in health ministries and planning organizations, multilateral and bilateral development organizations and NGOs. Students in this one-year program learn how to make the best use of policy analysis to determine which plans work, which are the most cost-effective and which are sensitive to a country’s values and culture.
The IHPM Scholar will receive full tuition and fee remission for the 2010/2011 academic year. The scholarship does NOT cover airfare, health insurance or any living expenses. Although nominations are encouraged from international and governmental development institutions and NGOs, self-nominations are accepted. Women and candidates with experience in policy, service delivery or education-related
work with poor and vulnerable populations are especially encouraged to apply

Swiss Government scholarships for university for foreign students for the academic year 2010-2011
Through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), the Swiss Government grants foreign students university scholarships (Swiss universities, Federal Institutes of Technology). These scholarships are offered on the basis of reciprocity (fixed number of scholarships for each country) or within the frame of a scholarship pool (scholarships without fixed distribution by country). They are intended for students who have graduated from university (postgraduates) and who, by staying in Switzerland, will be able to further their education and to undertake research work in the fields in which the Swiss universities are particularly active.
To a limited extent, scholarships are also offered for postgraduate studies at the Universities of Applied Sciences. This applies to the group of Western (AP-1) and Central and Eastern European countries (AP-2) included in the scholarship pool. Students must have graduated from a university or university of applied sciences with at least a Bachelor Degree and enrol in Switzerland for studies at post-graduate level. This offer applies for the seven universities of applied sciences, not including teaching colleges. In the field of the arts (design/music), the conditions for arts students relating to the country offer apply (see below).
This program is valid only for studies in Switzerland. It is not valid for on-the-job studies, part-time studies or correspondence courses.

Please note that applicants who live in another country than their country of citizenship, either temporary or permanently, cannot apply. It is a condition that the applicant applies for admission to the quota scheme from his or her home country, and can substantiate that he or she has been in the home country for at least one year prior to admission into the programme. Applicants from an eligible country, who are residing in another country on the list, may in some cases be considered. Quota Scheme students are expected to return home on completion of their studies in Norway.

IELTS minimum band 6.0 academic test.

The Ambassadorial Scholarships program supports the mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International to further world under-standing and peace by:

The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Europe, the Middle East and Africa
Dr. Anita Borg (1949-2003) devoted her adult life to revolutionising the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields. Her combination of technical expertise and fearless vision continues to inspire and motivate countless women to become active participants and leaders in creating technology.
As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to furthering Anita’s vision, we are pleased to announce The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Through the scholarship, we aim to encourage women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders.
Multiple scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic performance, leadership experience and demonstrated passion for computer science. A group of female Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship recipients will each receive a €7,000 (or equivalent) scholarship.
In June 2010, all scholarship recipients and finalists will be invited to visit Google’s Engineering Centre in Zurich for a networking retreat. It will include workshops with a series of speakers, panels, breakout sessions and social activities, and will provide an opportunity for all finalists to meet and share their experiences.

Describe a significant technical project you have worked on. Give one or two examples of your leadership abilities. Explain how you were influential and what you were trying to achieve. These need not be demonstrated through formal or traditional leadership roles. Feel free to think broadly and examine the many ways you impact members of your technical community.
Suppose someone gave you the funding and resources for a 3- to 12-month project to investigate a technical topic of your choice. Write a short version of a proposal, including a description of the project, your planned methodology, and your expected results. Describe a significant technical project you have worked on. Suppose someone gave you the funding and resources for a 3- to 12-month project to investigate a technical topic of your choice. Write a short version of a proposal, including a description of the project, your planned methodology, and your expected results. Please pick something other than the project you described for the first question.

Master Scholarships in Public Policy in Germany - for Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Middle East
Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance (PPGG)

What are the objectives of the programme?
This programme is designed to academically qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. The programme offers very good graduates with a first university degree the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance for the social, political and economic development of their home country. With the knowledge and experience acquired in Germany the scholarship holders should later contribute to the establishment of democratically oriented economic and social systems aimed at overcoming social tensions. In addition, the training at German institutions of higher education should especially qualify the scholarship holders as partners in political and economic cooperation with Germany. With this programme, DAAD intends to contribute to the support of Good Governance and civil society structures in selected partner countries and regions.
Who can apply?
The scholarship scheme is open to candidates from Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia as well as from countries in the Middle East. Target group Very well qualified graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who in the future want to actively contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.
What is fundable?
The scholarships are (generally) for two-year Master courses at a German institution of higher education. The successful candidates will study on one of the selected Master courses listed below. The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German and/or English.
The scholarship holders will study in groups and be offered special tutoring at their host institutions. Furthermore, there is the possibility of networking events for participants in different courses and their attendance at tailor-made summer-schools.
Before taking up their Master studies the scholarship holders will be placed on German courses in Germany for normally 6 months (this also applies to scholarship holders in Master courses taught in English).
DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 €. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants an appropriate travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases rent subsidies and / or family allowances.
Selection In addition to the study results achieved so far, the main criterion for selection is a convincing description of the subject-related and personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit after the return to the home country.
For Master courses taught in German or in German and English, good knowledge of German (ideally at completed A 2 level at the time of application) is an advantage for being able to pass the German language test required for admission to the Master programme at the end of the six-month preparatory German course. For courses taught
in English, proof of good knowledge of English (generally a minimum of 550 TOEFL scores or equivalent) is required.
The university degree should have been obtained during the six years before the application for the scholarship. Applicants cannot be considered if they have been in Germany for more than one year at the time of application.
All Master courses have further additional requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicants at any case.

• Motivation Letter containing a precise description of the applicant’s academic / professional and personal reasons for wishing to participate in the programme;
• Full Curriculum Vitae including information about precise field of study and, if applicable, description of job experience;
• Recent language certificates giving evidence of your level of proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS) and if applicable in German. Please make sure to register in time for the respective tests. Fees for obtaining such certificates are
considered as a personal career investment and will not be reimbursed.
• Two letters of recommendation by university professors and/or current or former employers;
• Officially authenticated copies of all certificates.

DAAD cannot consider incomplete applications.

The decision on the award of scholarships will be taken by a selection committee composed of professors from the Master courses and representatives of DAAD.
